Registration is now closed for summer programming. To register for the waiting list, you must register at the front office of Earle Brown Elementary or Brooklyn Center Secondary.  

Baby Steps
Childcare services for teen parents enrolled in summer school programming. Transportation will be provided to enrolled students. Transportation provided to Robbinsdale residents living within 8 miles of Baby Steps (other limitations apply to students living in Minneapolis).

Summer Kindergarten Prep!
Free 6-week Kindergarten Prep for in district families. For children with little to no prior Pre-K experience and entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2017 at Earle Brown Elementary.

Times: 7:30am Drop-off
            8:00am - 2:00pm 

Dates: Monday - Thursday
June 19to July 27 (No School July 4)

Earle Brown Elementary Summer School - Any incoming 1st-5th graders
 
Students will accelerate skills in reading and math as well as in other core academics areas. The students will also participate in enrichment activities that will focus on enriching student’s community awareness, creativity, and leadership skills.

            8:00am to 2:00pm

THE PROGRAM
Brooklyn Center Secondary School offers students an opportunity to accelerate learning, explore topics of choice and bring back the LOVE for learning from the primary years.

Students will accelerate skills in math and reading in a camp-like atmosphere that provides students the opportunity to explore a topic interest. Some examples include:
Video Production
Ceramics
College Prep for Athletes
Robotics
Knitting
How to be a Chef
Arts and Crafts
Much More….

CREDIT RECOVERY SUMMER SCHOOL for Incoming 10th-12 graders who are behind in credits:
 
Summer School is available for students who are behind as an additional opportunity to earn credits toward graduation. 80 seats are available, so register soon!

            8:30am to 3:00pm

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is provided for all eligible students entering grades PreK through 12th grade.  If you need transportation services you must fill out the transportation request form and return it to the Transportation Office no later than Friday, May 26th, 2017 in order to be transported on the first day of summer school.  All transportation request forms received after Friday, May 26th, 2017 will be processed and transportation will start on Monday, June 26th, 2017.
 
The transportation request form is located on the District's website, at each School's office, and at the Transportation Office.
 
The Transportation Office is located at the Brooklyn Center Community Schools High School Building at 6500 Humboldt Ave N, Brooklyn Center MN 55430.  The Transportation Office will be open during the summer from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm.
