Ms.Marn: English, CIS Writing Studio & Literature (Room 126)

I have been a part of the BCHS staff for the last five years (since 2012). I teach both English and sections of CIS Literature and CIS Writing Studio (a concurrent enrollment program through U of M).

In the past I have led the school's poetry club, which evolved into Poetry Out Loud. Poetry Out Loud is a poetry performance competition that has regional, state, and national levels. In past years BCS has taken students to both regional and state competitions. Here is a link to the Poetry Out Loud website where you can learn more about this event: http://www.poetryoutloud.org

I currently teach APEX after school Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 4:30 PM. This is an online credit recovery program.

I should also share a bit about my educational background and my professional qualifications as I am teaching your children. I hold a BA in English from the University of North Dakota, and an MA in English from the University of Saint Thomas. My teaching licenses in Communication Arts and Literature and Reading were earned at Hamline University, as was my MA in Literacy Education, which was just completed this August.
